Position: Social Media Specialist
DiCon Fiberoptics, Inc. is an advanced photonics company with two established business groups: DiCon Fiberoptics and DiCon Lighting.
Founded in 1986, DiCon Fiberoptics is a recognized San Francisco-based optical communication component and device supplier for the telecommunication, defense/military, and bio/medical sectors. It is an industry leader and innovator in micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), thin optical coatings, micro-optic design, advanced packaging, and other new and evolving technologies aimed to address the rapidly changing needs of the optical networking industry.
In 2002, DiCon drastically expanded its photonic expertise by delving into solid-state lighting under DiCon Lighting. Using a proprietary Dense Matrix LED platform, which allows high-brightness LED chips to be packaged closely together to form a compact and super-luminous point source, DiCon Lighting develops lighting fixtures for both professional and mass consumer audiences and has established brands in a number of industries including home lighting, horticultural lighting, architectural lighting, entertainment lighting, microscopy lighting, etc.
Job Description & Qualification
We are seeking motivated, self-starting, creative individuals who equipped with a social media strategy and implementation background and an interest in marketing to promote several of our company’s products via social media and Internet communities.
In addition to a thorough understanding of and experience using multiple social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube etc., the candidates must have a passion for social trends, digital marketing, and new technology. The candidates will be working closely with the Sales & Marketing team and be responsible for leading and defining strategies that utilize social media to enhance understanding and gain awareness among the public about company’s products. He/She needs not only to be able to research and suggest opportunities or new technologies to enhance the company’s social media presence but also analyze the performance of media programs and optimize interaction. Monitoring and maintaining the company’s social presence through social media sites and online communities such as forums will be a daily routine. The candidates are expected to work independently but would be supported by our design, engineering, and marketing teams.
Bachelor’s degree in communication preferred but not required. Applicants will be asked to provide sample work prior to an interview.
